Who we are

SMS Network is an internet service provider in Chhagalnaiya, Feni. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean SMS Network. We decide why and how your personal data is used, which makes us the controller of that data.

This policy covers this website (smsnetworkcnbd.com) and the personal data we handle when you ask about, buy or use our internet service. It should be read with our Terms and Conditions.

What we collect

What we collect depends on how you deal with us.

• Website visitors. Technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and the time of your visit. This is recorded in server and hosting logs. We also store a cookie that remembers your cookie choice. If you allow analytics cookies, we collect usage statistics too.
• People who enquire or order. If you call, visit or use our order form, we note your name, phone number, address, area and the package you want. The order form does not store anything on this website. It opens WhatsApp with your details filled in, and they reach us only when you press send.
• Customers. Your name, contact details, installation address, the identity details we need to set up a connection, your package, billing and payment records, support and complaint history, and the connection and network records we must keep to run the service and meet legal duties.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive data such as health, religion, political views or biometrics. Please do not send us this kind of information.

How we use your data

• To check coverage, install, provide and maintain your internet connection.
• To bill you, record payments and collect what is owed.
• To answer questions, fix faults and handle complaints.
• To send service messages such as outages, maintenance, price changes and bill reminders.
• To keep our network and customers safe, and to prevent fraud and misuse.
• To meet legal, tax and regulatory requirements, including licence conditions set by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
• To understand how the website is used and improve it, but only with your consent for analytics cookies.

We process personal data with your consent, where it is needed to provide the service you asked for, or where the law requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Your rights).

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use as few as possible, and we ask before using any that are not strictly necessary.

Analytics cookies are off unless you allow them. If we add any, we will list them in this table first. You can still use the whole site if you say no.

Who we share data with

We share personal data only when there is a clear reason:

• Payment and billing providers, so that your payments can be processed.
• Technicians, contractors and service providers who install, maintain or support the network on our behalf. They may use data only for that work.
• Hosting and technology providers that run this website.
• WhatsApp (Meta), when you choose to send us an order through WhatsApp. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to that message.
• Cloudflare, only when you start the speed test, connection quality or IP check tools. These tools run on Cloudflare’s speed test servers, which see your IP address and network as part of the check. We do not store the results.
• The BTRC, law enforcement, courts and other authorities, when the law requires or a valid legal order asks us to.
• Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, under a duty of confidentiality.

If our business is sold or reorganised, customer records may pass to the new owner, who must protect them under this policy.

Where your data is stored

Customer records are kept in Bangladesh. Some website hosting and technology providers may process technical data outside Bangladesh. When that happens we use providers that protect data to a standard that the law of Bangladesh accepts.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for.

• Enquiry details that do not become a connection are deleted once the enquiry is closed.
• Customer account data is kept while you are a customer, and afterwards for the time needed to settle billing disputes and meet tax and accounting rules.
• Connection and network records are kept for the period our BTRC licence conditions and the law require.

After that, we delete the data or anonymise it so it no longer identifies you.

How we protect it

We limit access to personal data to staff and contractors who need it, store records securely and use secure connections (HTTPS) on this website. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

If a breach puts your personal data at risk, we will take steps to contain it and will report it to the authority and to affected people where the law requires.

Your rights

Subject to the law, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy,
• correct data that is wrong or incomplete,
• delete your data, unless we must keep it to meet a legal duty or settle a dispute,
• stop using your data for a purpose you earlier agreed to, by withdrawing your consent,
• stop sending you promotional messages.

To use a right, call 09644-252525 or visit our head office. We may ask you to prove who you are first, and we will reply within a reasonable time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before you withdrew it.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You may also complain to the National Data Governance Authority or the relevant authority under the laws of Bangladesh.

Children

Our service is sold to adults, and this website is not aimed at anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data without a parent or guardian’s consent, tell us and we will delete it.

Links to other sites

This website links to services we do not run, such as Google Maps for directions. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. For important changes we will also put a notice on this website.
