When power goes off, your router goes off too, even if the network outside is still working. A small backup supply keeps you online, and good protection keeps your equipment safe.
Options for backup power
A mini UPS made for routers, which plugs between the adapter and the router.
Your home IPS or UPS, if the router socket is connected to it.
A power bank with the right output, for short cuts.
Protect your equipment
Use a surge protector or stabiliser where voltage is unstable.
Make sure sockets are properly earthed.
Unplug equipment during heavy lightning storms if you can.
After the power returns
Give the router two or three minutes to start. If the internet does not come back, restart it once. If it is still down, call 09644-252525.
